Good Housekeeping published a gift guide featuring 16 advent calendars it says can be sent to college students as holiday care-package alternatives. The picks range from candy and bath products to puzzles, collectibles and crafts; prices, availability and delivery timing may vary.

Good Housekeeping has published a guide to 16 advent calendars for college students, recommending them as holiday care-package alternatives that can be mailed to a student’s campus address. The selection spans food, personal-care products, puzzles, collectibles and crafts, giving families options beyond a single package of snacks during the end-of-term period.

The guide’s featured picks include a Sour Patch Kids calendar with 48 pieces over 24 days, a Burt’s Bees set with 12 lip balms, and The Body Shop’s calendar with 24 trial-size personal-care products. Another food option, the Candy of the World calendar, contains 96 pieces—four per day—along with a booklet about the sweets and a scoreboard for rating favorites, according to the report.

Other selections are aimed at interests beyond snacks. Good Housekeeping lists a calendar of 12 mini puzzles, each with 80 pieces, a 24-door Williams-Sonoma chocolate calendar, and a Marvel calendar with six characters and 24 small builds. The roundup also includes popcorn, hot sauce, jokes, Stitch figures, craft materials, Italian cookies, gemstones and a charm bracelet. The report describes the Kendra Scott jewelry calendar as containing bracelets, necklaces and earrings across 12 days, and says the brand lists an $840 value.

The article frames the calendars as gifts that can arrive after Thanksgiving and offer a small daily item during the run-up to winter break. That is the publication’s suggested use, rather than a guarantee about shipping dates or how any individual student will use the products.

A Daily Gift for the End of Term

The roundup turns the familiar advent-calendar format into a repeat-use care package: instead of one delivery, a student opens a new item each day. For families sending something from a distance, the variety may help match a gift to a student’s interests, whether that means snacks, skincare, puzzles or desk collectibles.

The timing is also part of the pitch. Finals and winter travel can fall during the calendar’s countdown period, though the guide does not establish that a calendar will ease exam stress or meet a student’s practical needs. Its value is primarily as a seasonal gift suggestion, and shoppers will need to check contents, price and delivery details before ordering.

What the Gift Guide Includes

The source is a Good Housekeeping shopping guide, not a report of a new product launch or a change in college shipping policy. It presents 16 options across several price and interest categories, including edible treats, personal care, crafts and collectibles. Its central recommendation is that shoppers consider sending a countdown calendar to a college address rather than relying only on a conventional care package.

The supplied article identifies one contributor, Jessica, as a lifestyle writer with experience evaluating home, pet and parenting products. The source does not provide a common testing method, comparative ratings or a full price list for all 16 calendars, so the items should be understood as editorial recommendations rather than a ranked test of every product on the market.

“A much more fun idea is to treat them to an advent calendar.”

Prices and Delivery Need Checking

The supplied source does not give a publication date, current stock status or a complete set of prices. It mentions sale references for some products, but those promotions may have changed. Shipping availability and arrival dates also depend on retailers and campus mail procedures; the guide does not confirm delivery timelines for any specific school.

Product contents and suitability can matter as much as the calendar format. The source lists food items that include nuts and other ingredients, but it does not provide full allergen information. Buyers should check product labels and retailer listings, especially when a student has food allergies or dietary restrictions. The report also does not independently verify the stated $840 value for the Kendra Scott set.

Check Listings Before Ordering

Readers interested in the suggestions should compare the current product listing with the guide, confirm the calendar’s contents and price, and check that the retailer ships to the student’s campus. For edible calendars, review ingredient and allergen labels; for non-food options, verify age guidance and any required materials. The source provides no announced follow-up or further reporting milestone.
